Fellow .NET users, We had a great event last month learning more about the Visual Studio debugger with Mike Benkovich.  Thank you to everyone who was able to join us.  We also learned about a few other initiatives currently happening in Omaha.  First, the MSDN events are coming back to Omaha.  Check out the OmahaMTG homepage for details on that.  Second, Marcus Kern is working to get a new Techmaster's club going.  You can get more details about that by visiting http://techmastersomaha.com/.

Our next .NET Users Group meeting will be held on Thursday, December 3rd, at 6:00pm (food will be provided 15 to 20 minutes prior to the start of the meeting). Meeting Details **Location:

**Team Software

407 S 27th Ave

**Special Parking Considerations:

**The parking at this month's meeting place is limited.  If possible, it would be advisable to carpool with a friend or coworker.  You will be able to park behind the building (on the East side).  At the entrance to this parking lot, there is a sign that states that your car will be towed if you park in the lot.  For this night after 5:15 PM, your car will NOT be towed.  In addition, there is street parking on the North and West sides of the building.  You do not need to pay for any of this parking.  You should enter the building on the East side.  The building is owned by the FBG Corporation so you'll see signs for FBG, however, Team Software is a tenanat of the top floor.  We will place signs to direct you to the appropriate place.  If anyone is having trouble, please call Matt's cell phone (402) 578-2539, and I'll do my best to help.  Also, because of the space limitation, we are capping the attendance at the meeting to 80 people.  Please RSVP to reserve your spot.

**Speaker: **

Brian Olson has worked at HDR as a Web Developer for the last 9 years.  ASP.NET is his "bread and butter" platform, but he enjoys working with a large range of technologies including Ruby on Rails, PHP and has even taken a peek at Grails.  While constantly looking forward to new technologies, he has also learned to look back on the less flashy practices such as Domain Driven Design and Design Patterns as a foundation to help him become a better craftsman.

**Topic:

**Testing in Isolation.  We have all heard about unit testing by now, and many of us are using unit tests.  With all the focus on Unit Testing, are we designing our applications to be testable, or is testing just an afterthought?  We will look at one way we can design our application to allow us to test our application

layers in isolation from other parts of the application.  We use Inversion of Control as a design pattern coupled with Microsoft's Unity Application Block to design applications in a way that will help us test them more effectively. **Food, Giveaways, Great Information:

**Definitely! We'll be giving away Software, Hardware, and books (and that doesn't even include what the sponsor will be bringing) **Sponsor:

** Team Software has been in business for 20 years developing and selling our financial and labor management software suite.  We offer both hosted and locally-installed solutions, serving mostly the janitorial and security guard industries.  We have over 400 customers in nearly all states, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico, Grand Cayman Islands, and just recently, Jamaica.  Our software is used to help secure events such as the Super Bowl and The Masters, as well as entities such as airports, banks, malls and countless other facilities.  In 2005, Team became an Employee Owned company, ensuring a successful transition of leadership and business continuity.  We currently have 45 employees, and have experienced our greatest growth in the past 3 years.

**How to attend:

**Please RSVP by clicking on the link at the top of the page to indicate that you plan on attending. This helps us know how much food and prizes we need to bring to the meeting!

BE SURE TO RSVP AS THE GIVE AWAY DRAWING NAMES WILL BE DRAWN FROM THE LIST OF ATTENDEES WHO RSVP THROUGH THE WEB SITE.
